Bring your chats from ChatGPT or Claude, and take everything with you
Import your history in a few clicks: export your data from ChatGPT or Claude, drop the zip straight into settings, and your conversations arrive with their original titles and dates, filed into your history where they belong. The file is read in your browser, so the parts we do not import - abandoned edits, tool calls, hidden system text - never leave your device. Import as often as you like; conversations you have already brought over are skipped rather than duplicated. Importing is free on every plan. Export works the other way: one click downloads a zip with every conversation in a readable format, plus your personas, notes, and settings. There is no emailed link and no waiting, because the file is built on the spot and never stored on our servers.
Personas: build characters as well as assistants
Assistants are now Personas, and they come in two kinds. An assistant is a tool with a job - research, code, writing, study. A character is someone to talk to: roleplay partners, companions, original characters, with their own personality, opening scene, and in-scene starters. Same editor, same plan limits; the type you pick changes the prompts, the drafting help, and the defaults (characters keep search and image tools off, for immersion). Your personas stay private to your account - there is no public feed and nothing to publish.
Conversations are now encrypted at rest
Message content and conversation summaries are now encrypted at the application layer before they reach the database - AES-256-GCM, each conversation under its own key, with keys held outside the database. This goes beyond the disk encryption every cloud service has: a database breach or leaked backup would expose ciphertext, not your chats. Applied to every existing conversation, not just new ones. To be precise about the limit: our servers decrypt conversations to generate replies, so this is not end-to-end encryption.
New plans, a lower entry price, and annual billing
Three paid plans instead of two: Go at $8.99/month with 100 messages a day, web search and attachments; Plus at $19.99 adding in-chat image generation and voice; and Pro at $39.99 with unlimited messages under fair use, an hour of voice, and a larger context window. Annual billing saves around a quarter. Existing subscribers keep the plan and price they signed up on.
AI search, with sources shown
Web-search answers now show a "Searched the web" line with the sources used, and a new AI search page lets you start a search-backed chat straight from a search box. Ask like you search - evenfall reaches for the live web on its own.
Custom assistants for paid plans
Paid users can save custom assistants - reusable instructions and a persona you can switch between per conversation, without maintaining a global profile.
