An AI chat with no history.
On purpose.
Incognito mode is a temporary AI chat that lives only in your tab. Nothing is written to any database, nothing shows up in your sidebar, and closing the tab erases the conversation — not after a retention window, but because it was never stored.
free account required · messages count toward your daily limit · content never stored
how it works
Open an incognito chat
One click from the sidebar. The session is marked "not saved" from the first message — there is no toggle to remember after the fact.
Talk like normal
Same model, same streaming answers, markdown and code blocks. The only difference is where the conversation lives: in your tab’s memory, nowhere else.
Close it and it never happened
Hit clear or close the tab and the conversation is gone. Not "deleted after 30 days" — never written down in the first place. It won’t appear in your sidebar, your history, or our database.
“not saved” means different things elsewhere
Most “temporary” AI chats are stored first and deleted later. ChatGPT's Temporary Chat keeps conversations out of your history and training, but OpenAI still stores them for up to about 30 days — and as the New York Times litigation showed, a court order can freeze that deletion clock. Other apps keep “unsaved” chats in your local browser instead of their servers, which is genuinely private but tied to one device.
Evenfall's incognito mode takes the simplest honest position: the conversation is never written down. There is no server-side record to delete, expire, or subpoena, because none is created. And it sits inside an app whose regular chats already follow strict privacy rules — no training, no ads, no tracking, hard deletion — so incognito is a stronger version of the same posture, not an exception to it.
questions about incognito chat
Is Evenfall’s incognito chat really not saved anywhere?
Correct — incognito messages are never written to Evenfall’s database. The conversation exists only in your browser tab while it is open; there is no history entry, no soft-deleted copy, and no retention window, because there is nothing retained. Your message is processed to generate the reply and is not stored afterwards.
How is this different from ChatGPT’s Temporary Chat?
ChatGPT’s Temporary Chats are excluded from history and training but are still stored by OpenAI and deleted within about 30 days — a retention window that a legal hold can extend. Evenfall’s incognito chat is never written to the database at all, so there is no window to extend.
Do I need an account for incognito chat?
Yes — a free account (email one-time code or Google), because incognito messages count toward your plan’s daily message limit, which is how we keep the free tier sustainable. What you say in those messages is still never stored.
Why use regular Evenfall chat at all, then?
History is useful — regular conversations sync across devices, get folders and pins, and can be continued. They come with the same privacy policy: never used for training, no ads, no tracking, and deleting one hard-deletes the database row. Incognito is for the questions where you don’t even want a history entry under your own account.
Does incognito chat include web search or attachments?
No — incognito is deliberately the minimal path: text in, text out, nothing persisted. For automatic web search with sources, use a regular chat on a paid plan.
