Private AI in your side panel — not in your pages
Evenfall for Chrome puts the same private AI chat beside every tab: ask questions without leaving the page, save thoughts to notes as you browse, and pull in what you're reading only when you decide to.
It is built so that doing nothing is the private choice: no access to your pages unless you switch it on, chat history kept on your device by default, no analytics, no trackers.
Select text on any page, or attach the whole page to one message — the reply streams in beside your tab, and anything worth keeping goes to notes.
what it does
Chat from any tab
Open the side panel with the toolbar button or Ctrl+Shift+E (Cmd+Shift+E on Mac) and get streaming answers without leaving the page you are on.
Right-click shortcuts
Select text and choose "Ask about this", "Translate", "Explain", or "Save selection to notes". On any page: "Summarize this page" or "Save page to notes". They act only when you click them.
Notes as you browse
Capture thoughts, snippets, and pages into your Evenfall notes — with the source link attached. Synced to your account by default, or kept on this device only.
Page context, only when you ask
Attach the text of the page you are reading to a specific message with one tap, so the AI can answer about what you are looking at. Nothing is attached automatically.
Your assistants
Custom assistants from your Evenfall account are available in the panel on paid plans — same instructions, same behaviour as the webapp.
Same account, same plan
No separate signup, no separate billing. The extension uses your existing Evenfall account and your plan’s daily limit — the free tier works out of the box.
private by default
Most AI browser extensions ask for access to every page you visit, all the time. Evenfall inverts that: every privacy promise below is enforced in code and verifiable in your browser — not just written in marketing copy.
Zero page access out of the box
Reading page text is an optional permission the extension does not hold unless you turn it on — verifiable in chrome://extensions. Enabling it uses Chrome’s own prompt, disabling it revokes the permission at the browser level, and pages are never read in the background.
History on your device by default
Local-only chats are answered through an endpoint that never writes conversations to our database — "local only" is enforced by the server, not promised by the UI.
No analytics, no trackers
No usage analytics, no browsing-history collection, no third parties. The extension communicates only with evenfall.ai.
Never used for training
Your conversations and notes are never used to train AI models and are never sold — the same promise as the webapp, because it is the same backend.
No stored credentials
The extension signs in with your existing evenfall.ai session. It stores no passwords and no tokens of its own.
Delete is delete
Remove a synced conversation or note and the row leaves the database — no soft-delete, no retention window. Local data clears from your browser the same way.
chat history: you pick what's kept
Three modes, switchable any time in settings. They control what is stored, not what is sent — and in every mode, conversations are never used to train AI models.
Ephemeral
Nothing is saved anywhere. Close the panel and the conversation is gone.
Local only — the default
History is kept in this browser and never written to our servers. Private without touching a setting.
Synced
Saved to your Evenfall account and visible in the webapp sidebar, marked as coming from the extension.
permissions, plainly
The extension’s UI, plus your settings and any local-only history and notes — kept on your device.
The right-click shortcuts. They only act on the text or page you explicitly click them for.
Talks to your own Evenfall account for chat and notes. The only host the extension can reach.
Powers the page-context feature. Off by default, requested via Chrome’s prompt only when you enable it in settings, revocable any time.

questions, answered
Can the extension read my pages or browsing history?
Not unless you turn it on. Reading page text is an optional permission the extension does not hold by default — you can verify that in chrome://extensions. When enabled, a page is only read at the moment you attach it to a message; nothing is read automatically or in the background, and no browsing history is collected.
Do I need an Evenfall account?
Yes. The extension signs in with your existing evenfall.ai session, so there is no separate signup and it stores no passwords or tokens of its own. The free tier works; some features, like custom assistants, are part of paid plans.
Is the extension free?
The extension itself is free. It uses your Evenfall plan’s daily message limit — free tier included — with no extra charge for chatting from the browser.
Where is my chat history stored?
Wherever you choose. Local only (the default) keeps history in this browser — those messages are answered through an endpoint that never persists conversations server-side. Synced saves them to your account and shows them in the webapp. Ephemeral keeps nothing at all.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome 116 or newer. Chromium-based browsers that support Chrome’s side-panel API and Web Store installs (such as Brave or Edge) generally work too, but Chrome is what we build and test against.
What happens to notes I save?
They are stored in your Evenfall account with the source link attached and show up at evenfall.ai/notes — or, if you select "local only", they stay on this device. Deleting a synced note removes it from the database.
the same private AI, one shortcut away
Install the extension, sign in once, and Evenfall is there on every tab — reading nothing, tracking nothing, until you ask.
